Make Disciples

So they love God and love People

Making disciples is the primary mission and core mandate entrusted by Jesus to His followers before His ascension. In Matthew 28:18-20, known as the Great Commission, Jesus declares, “All authority in heaven and on earth has been given to me. Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you.” This directive reveals that the ultimate calling of the Church goes beyond simply sharing the Gospel or securing individual conversions; it is an active, outward command to form devoted, lifelong followers of Christ across every culture and nation, grounded in His authority and enduring presence.

Scripture demonstrates that disciple-making is an intentional, relational process of spiritual investment and ongoing instruction. Rather than a quick transaction, making disciples involves walking alongside others to teach them how to live out God’s truth in every area of life. The Apostle Paul illustrates this practical model of spiritual mentoring in 2 Timothy 2:2, instructing, “And the things you have heard me say in the presence of many witnesses entrust to reliable people who will also be qualified to teach others.” Biblical discipleship requires modeling faith in real time—sharing not only the Scriptures, but also one’s daily life, so that believers are equipped to mature and guide others in turn.

Ultimately, the biblical instruction to make disciples creates a continuous culture of spiritual multiplication and Kingdom growth. Discipleship is designed as a compounding effort, ensuring that the message of Christ is preserved and passed down from generation to generation. By investing in others through mentorship, shared wisdom, accountability, and practical service, believers active build up the body of Christ. As Christians commit to this calling, they participate in God’s broader plan to fill the world with living witnesses of His grace, love, and transformative power.
