In the beginning was the Word. Matthew puts the story of Jesus in Jewish history. Luke put’s him in world history. The gospel of John puts the story of Jesus in cosmological history. In the beginning – God. In the beginning – the Word (Jesus). Wow…it’s something to take time to consider as we think about Emmanuel – God with us.
