5 Reason and 9 Bible Verses on why we should Always Share
The Bible offers several key passages that guide believers in sharing their hope in Christ:
Readiness and Explanation:
When asked about your hope as a believer, you should always be ready to explain it (1 Pet 3:15). This foundational instruction emphasizes preparedness in articulating faith.
“Instead, you must worship Christ as Lord of your life. And if someone asks about your hope as a believer, always be ready to explain it.” (1 Pet 3:15)
Witness and Proclamation:
Empowered by the Holy Spirit, believers become witnesses who tell people about Christ everywhere—from Jerusalem to the ends of the earth (Acts 1:8). Similarly, Christ instructed his followers to go into all the world and preach the Good News to everyone (Mark 16:15). The Great Commission calls disciples to make disciples of all nations, baptizing them and teaching them to obey Christ’s commands (Matt 28:19–20).
“But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit comes upon you. And you will be my witnesses, telling people about me everywhere—in Jerusalem, throughout Judea, in Samaria, and to the ends of the earth.” (Acts 1:8)
“Go into all the world and preach the Good News to everyone.” (Mark 16:15)
“Therefore, go and make disciples of all the nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and the Son and the Holy Spirit. Teach these new disciples to obey all the commands I have given you. And be sure of this: I am with you always, even to the end of the age.” (Matt 28:19–20)
Living as an Example:
As the light of the world, believers should let their good deeds shine out for all to see, so that others will praise God (Matt 5:14–16). Living wisely among non-believers and making the most of every opportunity involves having gracious and attractive conversation (Col 4:5–6).
“You are the light of the world—like a city on a hilltop that cannot be hidden. No one lights a lamp and then puts it under a basket. Instead, a lamp is placed on a stand, where it gives light to everyone in the house. In the same way, let your good deeds shine out for all to see, so that everyone will praise your heavenly Father.” (Matt 5:14–16)
“Live wisely among those who are not believers, and make the most of every opportunity. Let your conversation be gracious and attractive so that you will have the right response for everyone.” (Col 4:5–6)
Ambassadorial Role:
Christians serve as Christ’s ambassadors through whom God makes his appeal, speaking for Christ and pleading with others to return to God (2 Cor 5:20). Those who publicly acknowledge Christ will be acknowledged by him before God the Father (Matt 10:32–33).
“So we are Christ’s ambassadors; God is making his appeal through us. We speak for Christ when we plead, ‘Come back to God!’” (2 Cor 5:20)
“Everyone who acknowledges me publicly here on earth, I will also acknowledge before my Father in heaven. But everyone who denies me here on earth, I will also deny before my Father in heaven.” (Matt 10:32–33)
Urgency and Compassion:
People cannot call on Christ unless they believe in him, cannot believe without hearing about him, and cannot hear without someone telling them (Rom 10:14–15). Believers are called to show mercy to those whose faith wavers and rescue others from judgment (Jude 22–23).
“But how can they call on him to save them unless they believe in him? And how can they believe in him if they have never heard about him? And how can they hear about him unless someone tells them? And how will anyone go and tell them without being sent? That is why the Scriptures say, ‘How beautiful are the feet of messengers who bring good news!’” (Rom 10:14–15)
“And you must show mercy to those whose faith is wavering. Rescue others by snatching them from the flames of judgment. Show mercy to still others, but do so with great caution, hating the sins that contaminate their lives.” (Jude 22–23)
These passages collectively emphasize that sharing hope in Christ involves both verbal proclamation and authentic living—backed by the Holy Spirit’s power and motivated by compassion for those who haven’t yet encountered Christ.
